Nicolas David
Designer of “Droners” for Kana and author of “Good Boy” for Manga Issho
In 2014, he was a finalist in publisher Ki-Oon's first springboard competition with his short story “No Spite”, then in 2015 he became assistant to mangaka Dara, who was then working on Angélique.
Following the Silent Manga Audition competition organized by Japanese publisher Coamix, he was selected for a program aimed at developing authors around the world.
Invited to Japan, he received advice from jury members Tsukasa Hojo, Tetsuo Hara, Ryujii Tsugihara and Nobohiko Horie, president of Coamix and former editor-in-chief of Shonen Jump.
At the same time, he signs his first publishing contract with Olydri for the manga Meckaz.
In 2018, Meckaz received the Best International Manga award from trade magazine Animeland, as well as a nomination in the same category at the Japan Expo Awards.
In 2021, he drew a short 3-volume series entitled Droners: Tales of Nuï in collaboration with Sylvain Dos Santos on the script. This is a manga prequel to the Droners animated series. In 2025, he wrote and drew a one-shot entitled 'Good Boy' for Manga Issho magazine.
