Idir Alexander OULD BRAHAM
Executive producer at Metronomik, guest at Japan Expo 2025
Idir Alexander OULD BRAHAM will be on stage at Japan Expo on Thursday, July 3rd at 4:15 PM on the Také stage, alongside voice actors Donald Reignoux and Kelly Marot, for an exclusive world premiere reveal of Metronomik’s bold new creation: No Straight Roads 2 (NSR2) — a daring musical and narrative game published by Shueisha Games.
Producer, creative strategist, and cultural entrepreneur, Idir operates at the crossroads of music, video games, and interactive storytelling.
Before producing games, Idir lived and breathed them. As a teenager, he would attend Japan Expo every year—battling fellow fans in Budokai Tenkaichi tournaments or interviewing Japanese creators for FFDream.com, one of the oldest French-speaking Final Fantasy fan sites. In fact, it was right here, mic in hand and stars in his eyes, that he landed his first industry job with Square Enix.
Since then, the Japan Expo stage has become familiar ground. For over a decade, he has returned regularly to share his passion, showcase projects, and connect with the communities that bring video game culture to life.
Throughout his career, Idir has helped elevate iconic franchises like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Life is Strange, Hitman, Tomb Raider, and Just Cause, before co-founding Metronomik—an independent studio based in Asia, born from a powerful belief: that video games can be a space for bold, vibrant, and sincere artistic expression.
He produced No Straight Roads, a cult-favorite action-music game praised for its striking art direction, electrifying soundtrack, and strong message about creative freedom.
Today, Idir champions a vision of video games as a universal language—one that transcends culture, emotion, and generation. Moving between Paris, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, and American airports, he builds bridges between artists, studios, and players through meaningful stories and daring creations.
And in 2025, he returns to the place where it all began… Japan Expo.
