On July 2-6, 2014, Japan Expo celebrates its 15th Anniversary with an exhibit and a great cosplay show bringing together the cosplayers who have been the most rewarded since the festival beginning. As for Guests of Honor, the attendees met with Izumi MATSUMOTO, the mangaka of Kimagure Orange Road, Kitarô KÔSAKA, animation director on several Studio Ghibli films, Daigo IKENO, the chara-designer of Street Fighter, and the groups Berryz Kobo and °C-ute who give a concert after the festival with 12 idols on stage.
5 days that feel much longer than expected
For its 15th anniversary, Japan Expo decided to remain open for 5 days! An attractive idea that would end up being more complicated than planned, as revealed by Jean-François Dufour, president of the festival: "For the extra day on Wednesday, we had decided to open in the afternoon only but the fans were here from the morning, it was a long day for them. As for the exhibitors, they only installed their booths on Wednesday which caused many different problems, to which added some computer bugs." It was an ordeal for the organizers and partners alike, which made the team go back to four days the following year.
