On July 5-2, 2009, Japan Expo was celebrating its 10th Anniversary and occupied almost 100,000 sqm at Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center. The public is more and more varied, with people of all ages, coming from everywhere, and with various interests.
Among the 50 something Japanese guests attending, the idol group AKB48 and the mangaka from studio CLAMP are Guests of Honor.
A few numbers can change everything
After many negotiations with managers, publishers, and several partners, the presence of an artist can be put on the line. Planned a long time ago, the coming of studio CLAMP almost didn’t happen when they boarded the plane to Paris. Over in Japan, the artists are worried about their seats in the plane, they are not side by side and won’t be able to work during the flight. The managers informed the team they would not get on the plane. A crisis meeting is organized 9,700 km from there to find a solution and the right seat numbers.
