The Cité internationale de la tapisserie was created in 2009 in response to the inscription of the know-how of Aubusson tapestry on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

The operation, entitled "The imaginary world of Hayao Miyazaki in Aubusson tapestry", consists in creating five tapestries from film images selected by the technical team of the Cité and validated by Studio Ghibli: Princess Mononoké (1997), Le Voyage de Chihiro (2001), Le Château Ambulant (2004), Nausicaä de la vallée du vent (1984).

Come and admire three monumental preparatory drawings, inspired by "Princess Mononoke", "Spirited away", and "Howl's moving Castle". The Cité will also have a booth with many animations, and its deputy director, Alice Bernadac, will give a conference presenting the project!
