Memories: Cosplay in Japan Expo 2023
Japan Expo was once again the scene of incredible cosplay performances. Here's a recap of the cosplay highlights at Japan Expo 2023!
Cosplay guests were on hand to share their expertise and showcase their creations. Talent from all over the world came together, including wig specialist Kinpastu from Canada, fairy-tale cosplayer Calssara from Germany, master showman Mistvein from Belgium, renowned festival creator and organizer Panterona from the Caribbean, and multi-talented Ukrainian cosplayer Fenix Fatalist.
All five presided over the European Cosplay Gathering season 11 finale on Saturday evening!
The ECG season 11 final took place on the Ichigo stage, attracting thousands of spectators to this phenomenal show featuring Europe's finest cosplayers!
During the judging, Vicke Blanka and the Youth Theatre Japan troupe put on an incredible show.
In the Solo category, Italy's Domadraghi Cosplay took first place with its Dragon 3 Astrid costume. Denmark took second place with Mirazie Cosplay in her Snow White Disney Doll Collection costume, and third place went to Elenya Frost representing Austria with her Ahsoka Star Wars Rebels cosplay.
The Best Wig prize awarded by Arda Wigs was won by Czech Cosplay Hadr with her Overwtach 2 cosplay.
In the Group category, it's the UK that wins, thanks to Parallel Works Cosplay & Jaeger Project in their Fire Emblem Three Houses cosplay. The Netherlands came a close second with the Witch Hat Atelier group featuring Syrupcookie, Rose & Prince. Finally, Denmark takes third place with TinYasuo, Amalia Cosplay & Zita in their Little Nightmares cosplay.
Then, on the heels of the eleventh season, came the French selections for the 12th edition! Cosplay 100 visages won the French selection with its cosplay of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton. It will represent France in this twelfth season and at the finals at Japan Expo in 2024.

You could not pass by the Cosplay Village, an area where many associations related to cosplay have come together to present you everything you need to know about the activity and creation of all kinds. You were able to find:
On the Kitsune stage, especially dedicated to cosplay, you could find incredible shows with the panel Genshin Impact and the panel My Hero Academia. As well as the free parade, allowing the most daring of you to pass under the spotlight.
The EPIC association has also been very present on the Kitsuné scene with various and varied events. Games, animations, competitions, you have been able to discover the cosplay in all its aspects!
