Memories: Amazing Japan Expo 2023

Amazing is a space dedicated to pop-culture from all over the world, where you'll find a wide range of events and activities. Here's a look back at what you discovered at Amazing!

Posted on

Lee Kwang-Eun, art director of piccoma's smartoon Pick me Up! was our webtoon guest of honor. You could meet him at signing sessions and live drawing.

In conjunction with Lee KWANG-EUN's visit, the dubbing troupe comprising Brigitte Lecordier, Adrien Larmande, Pascale Chemin and Bruno Méyère took to the stage for a live dubbing session of Pick Me Up! accompanied by music and sound effects mixed by PV NOVA. An exclusive opportunity to go behind the scenes of the dubbing profession!

On the WEBTOON stand you could meet authors from all horizons to (re)discover their webtoon:

K-Pop dance covers Bitchinas, Namja Project, RISIN' CREW and SHEE'Z & HEE'Z put on supercharged shows, especially during the Amazing K-Pop Show!

Male idol group U&PIA also made a surprise appearance!

On the Sky stage, Stormy Shot and Pandora Crew also set the mood with their K-Pop dance covers.

The Amazing Games Experience area was dedicated to board games, with the presence of Parkage, Asmodee and the French Role-playing Federation. There were three areas where you could discover new games and take part in tournaments.

Introduction to Korean Drama, the first Amazing exhibition, offered you the chance to discover, or rediscover, the world of K-Drama through a selection of iconic works.

French' Brick Ile de France brought you their crazy LEGO® constructions, full of details and references to your favorite licenses!

You could meet emperors Siths and Jedi on stands dedicated to the Star Wars universe, such as the Imperial Alliance and 501st Legion French Garrison, or even learn to use a lightsaber with the Ludosport association! And if the latter was too futuristic for your taste, you could try your hand at traditional Korean sword fighting, Haidong Gumdo.

At the Tolkiendil stand, you could immerse yourself in the fantastic world of J.R.R Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

You were also able to chat with members of web series such as Noob, Miracle Dream and Dawn of Crime, and learn more about their creative process.
