With new countries joining the contest every year and thousands of people attending the finals, the European Cosplay Gathering (ECG) confirms its continual rise. As the contest keeps on growing, it will be featuring its finals later in the day, on Saturday from 5.15 pm on the Ichigo stage, the prize-giving ceremny strating at 7.45 pm, a stage that will be at its best with many improvements set up for the 20th Anniversary of Japan Expo.
The ECG finals are free of access for all the festival attendees (with a valid entrance ticket for Saturday and in the limit of the available seats) and to allow you to have an even more exceptional experience, a new option is proposed: the Star Pass ECG Finals!

In July 2011, the European Cosplay Gathering, ECG for short, went through the finals of its first edition at Japan Expo. Since July 2018, this major European cosplay contest is back on track for Season 9, touring Europe event after event to find the cosplayers who will compete in the finals set at Japan Expo next July. Season 9 welcomed a new country among its participants: Sweden. The ECG now includes 15 countries in the run for the finals.
3 or 4 entrants – 1 in the solo category, and 2 or 3 in the group category – are chosen in each of the following 14 countries: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. All the contestants are introduced on the ECG official website: click here to see them all.
The ECG allows the entrants to perform on the biggest cosplay stage in Europe, the Ichigo stage at Japan Expo, in front of 14,000 people who come to admire, support and cheer them. For Japan Expo's 20th Anniversary, the Ichigo stage will undergo a number of improvements, to offer you a show like no other. More than a mere cosplay show, the ECG finals are a masterpiece!
Don't miss the winners of Season 9 at 7.45 pm on the Ichigo after the interval show: the Ballet Dragon Quest, for the first time in France!
