Have you ever heard of the webtoon, this comic strip format originating in South Korea that has been sweeping across our screens for the past few years? Maybe they've invaded yours too! This year at Japan Expo, you'll find a whole area of workshops and stages 100% dedicated to webtoon!
The Village Webtoon is brought to you by the collaboration between the association le Wafé and Sébastien Célimon! - Founded in September 2021, le Wafé - or Webtoon Café, is an association for cultural mediation around the webtoon. Whether online or in person, the Wafé offers educational content and privileged spaces for exchange with the various players in this format and the general public! - Sébastien Célimon, recently editor-in-chief of AnimeLand, organizes Europe's first Webtoon festival, in Monteux, Provence. It was this expertise that attracted the Japan Expo organization to create the Comptoir du Webtoon space with Wafé.
Would you like to discover the webtoon format, understand its challenges or meet its authors and professionals directly? The Village Webtoon and Sky stage will host a full program of workshops, games, conferences and round tables over the four days of the festival! Come and pick up the program for the space and sign up for their various games and workshops at the Village Webtoon info point!
