Daruma : presentation

The Daruma awards recognize a selection of manga and anime released during the previous year, as voted for by a jury of professionals and the public, offering a veritable reading guide for those wishing to discover the best of recent releases.

To select the live works, a Selection Committee was asked to draw up the list of manga and anime in competition. These specialists, media players, specialized influencers and personalities from the worlds of manga and anime delivered a complete list of works divided into 20 categories!

The categories are :

• Daruma for French Touch: SILENCE by Yoann Vornière (Kana)
• Daruma for Heritage: Kojiro of the Fuma Clan by Kurumada Masami from NaBan
• Daruma for Best Drawing: #DRCL Midnight Children by Sakamoto Shin'ichi, published by Ki-oon
• Daruma for Best Script: Orb: On the Movements of the Earth by UOTO from Ki-oon

A Jury was in charge of rewarding the nominees in these categories. The public also took part, as you were able to vote in the categories for your favorite works! The Daruma 2024 Awards Ceremony took place in public at Japan Expo and was broadcast on our Twitch channel and that of Team Manga on Friday July 12 on the Také stage.

This year, Team Manga co-organized the Daruma with Japan Expo. Team Manga is a news media, specialized in manga and Japanese animation. You can find them on social networks, on teammanga.fr but also through weekly shows on Twitch.
