Misaki IWASA is the official reporter for our culture & traditions events for the 160th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Japon.
Misaki IWASA started her musical career back in 2010 when she joined the famous Japanese idol group AKB48 as a member of the 7th generation. In 2012, she made her solo debut as an enka singer – enka being a form of sentimental ballad music.
Her first single, Mujin Eki, quickly ranked 5th on the weekly Oricon Singles Chart while her third single, entitled Tomonoura Bojou, ranked 1st two years later.
She left AKB48 in 2016 to fully devote herself to her solo career that had then become truly concrete. To date, she has released two albums and seven singles. Her latest single, entitled Sado no Ondeko, came out in February 2018.
Since her fame has now reached out beyond continental borders, she is now used to performing all over the world, including at Hyper Japan in London, at Nagara Group Festival in Sao Paulo, at Japan Summit in San Fransisco, and even at Japan Expo 2016!
This year, Misaki IWASA will be attending Japan Expo for four days! Come discover her work during a live performance and a panel, and meet her at a signing and a photocall session!
