Pick Me Up ! : Live dubbing on stage
The piccoma reading platform has teamed up with one of the biggest names in French animation, dubbing actress Brigitte Lecordier, to organize a live dubbing session at Japan Expo.
For the 2023 edition of Japan Expo, two exceptional live dubbing sessions are planned around the smartoon Pick me up !. Brigitte Lecordier, the French voice of Son Goku (Dragon Ball), is working with piccoma to organize special performances of the platform's new smartoon, Pick Me Up !
This new work from REDICE Studios (Solo Leveling) recounts the adventures of Han, a young man who finds himself thrown into a mobile game. He must do everything he can to survive, while most of his decisions are controlled by a player unaware that he is playing with the lives of real people. The series' art director, Lee Kwang-Eun, is also at Japan Expo.
Brigitte Lecordier will interpret the character of Iselle, an aggressive little fairy embodying the game's interface. She will be accompanied by Adrien Larmande (Haikyu !!, SK8, Mashle...), who will give his voice to the hero Han, Pascale Chemin (Hunter x Hunter, Attack on Titan, Nana...), who will play the heroine Jenna and Bruno Méyère (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan...). Music and sound effects will be handled by artist PV Nova (Les Franglaises) on an adaptation and directed by Louis Lecordier.
"I've long wanted to show the public what our work as voice actors is all about. How, starting from an image, a character can come to life, thanks to a voice... This year, for the first time, Japan Expo is giving me the opportunity to do it on stage, live. Through the reading of piccoma's smartoon: "Pick Me Up !", I'll be surrounded by three actors and a musician to embody multiple characters for an adventure that will thrill you!" - Brigitte Lecordier
