UMI☆KUN

Born in rural Japan, UMI☆KUN developed a passion for music from an early age, learning piano and dance from the age of three. Originally planning to attend university, he redirected his path to the Tokyo Conservatory, where he earned both his diploma and a teaching qualification. After completing his studies, he focused on music composition, video games, and anime, gradually shaping his unique artistic universe.

In April 2014, he uploaded a cover on Niconico Douga that quickly became popular, becoming the platform’s second most-viewed video and attracting media attention. At the same time, he launched his YouTube channel, which today has nearly 50,000 subscribers. Recognized as a rising star of the Japanese web, UMI☆KUN is known for his humor, energy, and vocal talent, particularly with Hello Baby, the official song of Japan Expo 2015.

He continued his versatile career with the special program UMI☆KUN: On the Way to the World of Voice Acting on Tokyo MX. In 2015, he released his first single I am Just Feeling Alive, the theme song for the anime Young Black Jack. In 2017, he became the leader of the group Norm Core, with whom he recorded the opening theme Countdown for Detective Conan in 2018.

In 2021, UMI☆KUN launched the Umikun Creative Project 2021, a four-CD project themed around the seasons. To date, he has released eight Vocaloid tracks, including Karappo no Melody, which has surpassed 1.3 million views on Niconico Douga. He continues his work as a Vocaloid producer while also composing for other artists, exploring a wide range of musical genres.

Alongside his career as a YouTuber and music creator, he takes part in other creative projects, including television appearances and collaborations with fashion brands, further demonstrating his versatile and promising talent.
