Under their male looks inspired from traditional theatre genres, the girls from THE HOOPERS sing J-pop titles enhanced with acrobatic dances and amazing costumes. Don’t miss them at Japan Expo!
The boyish girls group THE HOOPERS is a brand-new idol sensation whose concept is based on traditional Japanese culture, inspired from kabuki (traditional Japanese theatre where male actors play female characters) and Takarazuka (a popular all-female Japanese acting troupe). The band is composed of eight girls who act as handsome boys, wearing their own hair short. Some of the members are amazing acrobatic dancers.
The group debuted with the song Itoshi Koishi Kimi Koishi in March 2015. Their fifth song, Love Hunter, entered the top 10 Weekly Oricon in 2016. In February 2016, they won the title of Best 5 New Artist in the 30th Japan Gold Disc Award.
THE HOOPERS will be performing their J-pop songs at Japan Expo! Don’t miss them live and meet them at signings, on Saturday and Sunday.
