Shigesato ITOI debuted as an advertising copywriter in 1971 and has quickly made a name in this field, notably when working as a creator of Ad copies for Studio Ghibli movies. He is also active in various areas such as lyric and essay writting, and became the Earthbound video game series' conceptor (also known under its Japanese title, Mother), edited by Nintendo. Ever since 1988, he has puts all of his effort into running the Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun website.

Shigesato ITOI will be introducing a new app for your smartphone: Dokonoko. In this app, users are able to show off adorable pictures of their cats or dogs to the whole world, befriend other users’ pets, but also launch a missing pet appeal or find adoption announcements made by animals’ shelters.
