This year, French movie theatres will feature Mirai of the Future, director Mamoru HOSODA’s latest work, produced by Studio Chizu. This film tells the story of unusual siblings: Kun, a 4-year-old boy who is very dependent on his parents, and his sister Mirai, who comes from the future. It is also the tale of a family and of lives related to the past and future. Presented officially at the Directors’ Fortnight of the 71st edition of the Cannes Festival, the film has already attracted much attention in France!
On the occasion of its release, the MAMORU HOSODA FILM WORKS Exhibit brings together at Japan Expo many of the director’s works, from Mirai of the Future to The Boy and the Beast, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, and Wolf Children. Exceptional material will be unveiled: storyboards, character designs, original artworks, sets… Don’t miss them during your visit at Japan Expo!
