Japan Expo and @Anime are inviting you to discover Momotaro, le divin soldat de la mer, the first animation feature film produced in Japan: a film that has never been showed in France before!

Directed by Mitsuyo SEO in 1944, in the middle of World War II, Momotaro, le divin soldat de la mer has been adapted from a Japanese folk tale. The main character, Momotaro, is depicted as a hero of the Japanese army, fighting the allies. Despite the context, its qualities of animation make it a major work in this genre, which influenced generations of animators, from Osamu TEZUKA to Hayao MIYAZAKI.
