Cosplay, the key art of the festival

Cosplay is inseparable from Japan Expo. For four days, the festival gets crowded with thousands of costumes of your favorite heroes, making you travel through manga, anime, video game, and other imaginary worlds. To proprely celebrate this art, we suggest you many activities and animations linked to this universe. Here’s a summary!

European Cosplay Gathering finals

Each year, Japan Expo welcomes the finals of the biggest European cosplay competition, the European Cosplay Gathering, on the Ichigo stage. Expert cosplayers from all parts of the continent gather for an outstanding show!

You can also meet many cosplayers who have taken part in the contest at the ECG booth.

Cosplay shows

Cosplays Shows are one of Japan Expo’s major events. Talented cosplayers go on stage to walk before your eyes wearing their best creations during a festive show.

Cosplay Masterclasses

Cosplay Masterclasses are made for all cosplay enthusiasts who want to share their knowledge and their skills. Experts come to share the secrets behind the creation of their costumes with you. Now’s your chance to collect many tips before getting started on your own works!

Associations

Don’t miss out cosplay associations booths during your visit. They’ve all come to initiate you to their art and entertain you during fun activities:

• Follow make-up, sewing, and DIY workshops applied with Aoi Sora Cosplay
• Discover animegao kigurumi, a surprising type of cosplay where cosplayers wear a mask very much like a manga drawing, with Kaokig
• Admire manga, comics, video games, or movie costume replicas with League of Replica
• Try out hand-embroidery with MYV and Dolly Cosplay and leave with your creations
• Meet Polymorphe Studio during various workshops (tattooing, make-up, and sewing), and sculpting, and 3D printing and modeling demonstrations
• Immortalize your visit by taking a picture of your costume at Shudan Pictures’ booth

And of course, you can also discover original, fantastic, terrifying, and kawaii costumes while walking down the festival’s alleys!
