Naoki YOSHIDA, the producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV, comes at Japan Expo to meet his European fans during a signing session on Saturday, July 5!
Biography
Born in Japan in 1973, Naoki YOSHIDA started his career in video games with Hudson Soft. There, he worked on many episodes of the franchise Bomberman, and in particular on the story mode of some of his titles, including those released on the Nintendo 64.
He then teamed up with Square Enix in 2004, where he began to work on the series Dragon Quest. He was the producer of the two Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road, both released on Arcade.
However, Naoki YOSHIDA wouldn’t have become more than an almost anonym developer if he hadn’t been personally chosen by the president of Square Enix, Yôichi WADA, to become the new team leader of Final Fantasy XIV. In fact, after the critical failure of the first version of the game in 2010, the president decides to start again everything anew, but to appoint the position of director and producer to a specialist of MMORPG. Naoki YOSHIDA is a big gamer of games online, and was then in charge to correct all the problems of FFXIV. Not only does he manages and oversees a series of updates for the game in activity, but he also deals with the development of a whole new version, named A Realm reborn. He soon establishes trust with his players, and worked really hard until the release of this altered version, in 2013.
