biography

Born in Tôkyô in September 1959, Kamui FUJIWARA is an accomplished artist. He was rewarded for his very first work in 1979 with the Tezuka Awards besideTsukasa HÔJÔ. The Japanese readership love his sophisticated characters and his precise details. He mentions Moebius and Katsuhiro OTOMO as his influences in the world of comics.

He got hugely successful thanks to Dragon Quest – Emblem of Roto and the 19 million copies sold, but can also leave shônen aside for a while for more personal projects such as an adaptation of the Genesis or Unlucky Young Men, in which he evokes the late 60’s disillusioned Japanese youth.

Kamui FUJIWARA has also been the chara-designer for famous RPGs such as Terranigma or Grandia Xtreme.

After Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibôken, the cult saga is back as a manga with Dragon Quest – Emblem of Roto, a great adventure that has seduced million readers!

See you on May 15 to follow the adventures of our new hero with the common release of the series first two volumes, and then at Japan Expo for a nice meeting with the artist, Kamui FUJIWARA
