biography

Born in 1968, Yoshiyuki ITÔ started his career in animation in the 90s. He made himself known with his work for Ghost in the Shell (1995) as an animator, and then on the TV series Vision of Escaflowne (1996) and Cowboy Bebop (1999) for which he was the key animator.

From 2003, he started a major collaboration to the TV adaptation of Hiromu ARAKAWA’s manga, Fullmetal Alchemist, both as a chara-designer and animation director. He then worked on the sequel of the anime: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Lately, he has been the chara-designer and animation director for the series Soul Eater (2008) and Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto (2010, directed by Takuya IGARASHI), or key animator on Summer Wars (2009).

At the moment, he’s working on the chara-design of the anime Space?Dandy within the prestigious studio Bones.
