True fact: the internationalization of Japanese animation
Japanese animation knows no border!
The worldwide craze for Japanese animation has been the origin of many passions and callings. The success of those productions has helped some, who wished to make it their job, to achieve their dream. For a long time, Disney-like traditional American animation, or more recently Pixar-like, was a standard in graphic style and scripts.
Yet, the broadcasting of anime series first, from the late 70s, and then feature films in the late 90s, has launched a revolution in the way fans, the audience and professionals alike, considered animation.
In the years 2000, there were already many animators from foreign countries close to Japan, mainly Koreans, but very few from the West working in Japanese animation studios. There are over 40 of them today.
Some, among the pioneers, attended Japan Expo last year as guests, as the festival was celebrating French creators from the animation and manga industry. Click here to know more about the French Touch events last year!
