France Kyudo

Kyûdô is traditional Japanese archery. Inherited from the samurai, kyûdô is a martial art. This warlike practice of the bow has since become an art of peace and personal development. Come and see demonstrations of traditional Japanese archery over a distance of 28 meters, and take advantage of introductory sessions to experience the Japanese art with the Ligue Île-de-France of kyûdô.

Kyûdô, literally the way of the bow, or in other words traditional Japanese archery, is a martial art that embodies all the values of traditional Japanese culture. Developing your personality, strength of character, concentration, respect for others, self-knowledge and toning up your body and posture are just some of the benefits offered by this authentic discipline.

Practitioners from the Ile-de-France region welcome you to a large 30m x 9m stand, with impressive demonstrations over a 28-meter shooting distance, the regulation distance in Japan. They'll also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about kyûdô practice or the equipment used.

Initiations are organized to help you discover this traditional art of archery.

Kyûdô is a discipline for everyone, to be discovered from adolescence onwards, with friends or family, throughout the festival!
