ZeMiaL

As a concept designer, ZeMiaL works with companies, publishers, studios and brands on a variety of advertising and artistic projects, while building up a reputation on the networks over the years for his personal, original illustrations.

In 2015, he imagined a concept in which all the greatest Japanese anime series heroes of the 80s would finally be brought together in the style of Marvel's famous Avengers. Tilted Shōnen Avengers, the concept initially took the form of a tarot deck, with the carefully crafted illustrations occupying all his spare time. Until one day, he wondered what all these wonderful characters would say to each other if, indeed, they were brought together.

In 2021, he offered his community his first funny strip featuring two famous heroes from the 80s. The response was immediate, and his entire community was won over. The idea, the laugh and the graphic style hit home. Everyone asked for more, and he was soon encouraged to produce a book.

ZeMiaL then undertook, through a participatory funding campaign, to produce a new episode every week until a complete comic strip was produced. Published every Friday morning on social networks, the event attracts more and more subscribers each week, just as we did when we used to wait for the weekly episode of our favorite cartoon.

A year and a publisher later, ZeMiaL's very first comic book, SHŌNEN AVENGERS, hit bookstores and sold out 48 hours after its release. The critical feedback was unanimous: it's a success in terms of both graphic style and writing.

Since then, ZeMiaL has embarked on a book-signing tour to meet his readers, and is finalizing the tarot deck scheduled for the end of 2023, as well as pondering the sequel to SHŌNEN AVENGERS.
