Yû Itô
Yû Itô is invited by Panini Éditions at Japan Expo! Come and meet the author of Shut Hell, who also signed the chara-designs for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans!
Yû Itô was born in Tokyo in 1977. She shares her passion for manga with her husband Shigeki Maeshima, who is also an author and illustrator.
She made her debut in 1999 with Kageneko in Ultra Jump magazine published by Shueisha. After working on several short series, she caused a sensation in 2004 with the manga adaptation of Daisuke Satô's novel Koukoku no Shugosha .
She then began Shut Hell in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine in 2009.
The series ends in 2017, while she received the Best Newcomer Award at the 16th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize in 2012.
At the same time, she is in charge of character design for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans.
Her latest series Ookami Rise, prepublished in Ultra Jump magazine between 2018 and 2021, is available in French from Panini Manga.
