Rodolphe Miez
As a freelance videographer and photographer, I spent 3 years in Japan. At the end of my stay, I travelled around the country for 3 months in a van to meet local craftsmen, interview them and make documentaries about them.
He was born in Versailles and studied translation in Paris. His interest in languages led to a university exchange at the age of 20 to Manchester, England, where he realized he wanted to travel. He then began learning Japanese, with just one idea in mind: to go to Tokyo one day.
After 2 years at l'Inalco, he left university to work for the airline ANA at CDG airport. He put aside as much money as he could and worked as hard as he could, because it was decided that he would go to Japan with a PVT.
On arriving in Tokyo, he met many people in the art world. He then spent 3 years in Japan and 2 years in Taiwan (covid prevented me from going back to Japan) before setting up his own business in France, still in the same field: video creation.
Today, he works for various companies and shares videos on Japanese culture on his YouTube channel. In particular, he has launched a new concept, "Paroles de Japonais", where he meets Japanese people who have decided to settle in France.
