Fuka MARIWO graduated from Tokyo's University of Arts after studying shamisen, a Japanese traditional instrument similar to a long lute, and qualified as a music teacher. She then specialized in nagauta, a style of traditional music which accompanies kabuki theater or buyô (classical dancing).
She is known in the world of Japanese classical music for her crystal-clear voice and her performances of shamisen which has low tones that perfectly melts with her voice. Often dressed up with traditional Japanese clothes, her show at Japan Expo last year kept the attention of the public.
