Learn the traditional Japanese dance with Yosakoi Paris Hinodemai
Yosakoi is an energetic and rhythmic Japanese group dance. Born in 1954 in the Kôchi prefecture on the island of Shikoku, it is based on traditional dance and music. Today, Yosakoi has become a sport dance with its own style, practiced all over Japan and the world.
Activities on the booth
Discover Yosakoi on the stand of Yosakoi Paris Hinodemai through their initiation courses throughout the festival.
During the initiation courses, you can discover and learn sô-ôdori. These are simple Yosakoi choreographies that can be learned quickly. They are common to many Yosakoi teams. The learning is done after a demonstration by the present teams' dancers, supervised by these same dancers.
In fact, the learning does not require any previous practice in dance or a particular physical condition. An initiation session lasts about 30 minutes, depending on the complexity of the choreography.
About Yosakoi Paris Hinodemai
The activities are organized by the Yosakoi Paris Hinodemai 日の出舞 team. Founded in October 2014 to promote Japanese Yosakoi sports dance, the group currently consists of about 30 members. Hinodemai is proud to be one of the "Yosakoi Ambassador" teams appointed in 2016 by the Kôchi prefecture.
