Presentation

Created in 2004, Pigments et Arts du Monde supports friendship between France and Japan and artistic exchanges between them. The association seeks to promote knowledge and traditional pictorial techniques from different cultures. A way to create bridges between the workshop and places where art has not legitimacy yet. They offer lessons for etegami, nihonga (Japanese traditional paintings), origami and Buddhist art.

Activities

Pigments et Arts du Monde offers you to discover nihonga, etegami, Japanese printmaking et origami through workshops:

  • Try the etegami. Valérie EGUCHI offers you a working group to try this art. Meaning picture letter, this delicate art consists in painting a picture accompanied by few words hand-drawn on cards, which will be eventually sent to friends.
  • Discover the origami. Koyo DAIRE will initiate you to this Japanese art that does not have secret for her anymore.
  • Paint your own painting. Priscilla MOORE, illustrator and nihonga painter invits you to enter into Japanese landscapes through a working group that will show you how to create a small painting.
  • Watch a demonstration of Japanese printmaking with Fred MIANE.

Contest

This year, Pigments et Arts du Monde offer you an Etegami-call inspired by the movie Demain (directed by Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent) with the headline "I'm doing my part for a better world."

Send them your etegami before June 30th! Click here for more information

Exhibit

Latest paintings of Priscilla MOORE and Valérie EGUCHI will be exposed on their booth. This exhibit will be the occasion to show you what nihonga is.

Besides, drawings sent for the contest "Etegami-call" will also be exposed.

Pigments et Arts du Monde wait for you in a cozy space, appropriate to exchanges and to the contemplation of masterpieces.
