Hidetaka TENJIN

Famous mecha-designer and professional voice actor Hidetaka TENJIN meets you at Japan Expo to show you his drawing skills on a Wacom tablet during a masterclass!

Mechanical Illustrator and Designer Hidetaka TENJIN began drawing at the age of three, and has since become a renowned professional artist in Japan's anime production and plastic model kit industry. His art style brings a breathtaking realism to some of anime's most iconic mecha properties, among them, most notably, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross and its many sequels. Bandai and HASEGAWA, two of Japan's top model kit manufacturers, routinely work with Hidetaka TENJIN and showcase his artwork on their retail products, such as the wildly popular Master Grade Gundam model kit series. Hidetaka TENJIN's expertise also expands beyond anime-related titles. Most recently, he has illustrated box art for Bandai's newest line of Star Wars vehicle and character model kits. 

Hidetaka TENJIN takes an active role in his mechanical design art and has worked on many high profile projects in the last decade, including Macross Zero, Macross Frontier, Macross Frontier: The False Diva, Macross Frontier: The Wings of Farewell, Macross Delta, Hellsing Ultimate, Knights & MagicSAINT SEIYA LEGEND of SANCTUARYGenesis of Aquarion, and Aquarion Evol. He continues to be an integral part of the Macross franchise, as he has signed on to work on the newest and most recently announced Macross Delta TV series. 

Aside from being an accomplished artist, Hidetaka TENJIN is also a professionally trained voice actor. He has been featured in key roles in anime series such as GARO: The AnimationSTAR WARS: REBELS and HUNTERxHUNTER, and live action series such as FOX's Japanese language broadcast of Gotham.

Hidetaka TENJIN comes four days to Japan Expo. He presents you the tablet on which he creates his mecha works at Wacom's booth, meets you at Meet & Greets, tells you even more about his work during a masterclass on Thursday, and will give a live drawing on the Kuri stage on Friday!
