Katori Shinto Ryu

Kobudo – or ancient martial art – refers to weapon training in traditional Japanese schools. On its side, the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu weapon school that teaches this discipline was created in the 15th century in Japan, and focuses in weapons handling – sabre, long staff and naginata, a curve blade sword. As an ancient Japanese weapon school, it has been consecrated as an important intangible heritage by the Japanese Ministry of Culture.

Kobudo awakes and sharpens the defence responses with weapons or bare-handed. This discipline, Master Alain FLOQUET improved it through his trainings in this historical school, and thanks to his Master Yushio SUGINO valuable tips.

PROGRAM

The Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu martial school invites you to discover its discipline through initiation sessions open to everyone and managed by kobudo experts.

Come to Japan Expo and learn the basis of kobudo and watch spectacular martial art displays!
