Katori Shinto Ryû

Kobudô – or ancient martial art – refers to weapon training in traditional Japanese schools. On its side, the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryû weapon school that teaches this discipline was created in the 15th century in Japan, and focuses in weapons handling – sabre, long staff and naginata, a curve blade sword. As an ancient Japanese weapon school, it has been consecrated as an important intangible heritage by the Japanese Ministry of Culture.

Kobudô awakes and sharpens the defence responses with weapons or bare-handed. This discipline, Master Alain FLOQUET improved it through his trainings in this historical school, and thanks to his Master Yushio SUGINO valuable tips.

PROGRAM

The Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryû martial school invites you to discover its discipline through initiation sessions open to everyone and managed by kobudô experts.

Come at the Budô area at Japan Expo in order to learn the basis of kobudô, but also to watch spectacular martial art displays!
