Presentation

The game originated in China thousands of years ago and is one of the 4 Asian sacred arts. In Japan, people have been playing go for more than 1,200 years, but it has only recently spread to the West, where it now has a solid reputation, partly thanks to the manga "Hikaru no Go".

The purpose of the game is to constitute territories, using a very simple equipment: a board called goban, with a grid and vacant intersections, on which black (kuro) and white (shiro) stones must be placed at turns. Each “stone” represents a soldier, and the encircled soldiers become prisoners. The rules are easy to understand in just a few minutes, and allow the beginners to rapidly start exciting and unpredictable games.

meet the ligue île-de-france de go

The Ligue Île-de-France de Go offers initiations using the atari-go method, which can be found in the educational documents of the French Go Federation (FFG). They will also be present to inform the public about their activities, their interventions in fairs, libraries, and schools. The Ligue Ile de France de Go brings together 23 clubs from the IDF county as well as from Eure et Loir, Loir et Cher, Loiret and Yonne.

The missions of the league revolve around the development of the game of go at the regional level, by helping to create clubs, organizing tournaments, internships, activities dedicated to young people, presenting the game at fairs and events.
