Let's meet VM5, winner of JAPAN EXPO ROCKs
Winners of Japan Expo ROCKs contest and coming from another world, the VM5 band shares with us their dreams and feelings in a quirky interview.
From what kind of world are you coming?
VM5: We can't tell you more about it, the only thing that can be said is, from the world we came from, everyone is doing what they really want to do.
How did you form VM5?
VM5: We had known each other as leaders of other bands. We’ve wanted to form a dream-band like The Beatles which has four attractive lead singers.
What kind of music do you play?
VM5: Dance music mixed with our favorite music, rock ‘n’ roll, punk, big beat, techno, pops, etc., and we love playing cover songs. For example, dance music meets the Ramones and the Bay City Rollers, do you want to hear them? We’d love to!
Tell me about your “Explosion” live performance.
VM5: We jumped and danced more than anyone else. Enthusiasm is contagious, and our show is like TV shows or radio programs.
Why are you wearing glowing glasses?
VM5: Do you ask the same question to masked wrestlers? We think less information gives you more imagination. Another reason, we must hide our presence from this world.
Why do you wear costumes?
VM5: We love fashion, so we choose clothes that suit us the best at the time. I don’t know why but it’s always the same clothes.
What are your future goals, activities, and dreams?
VM5: We know that everybody can enjoy arts. Everybody should be given an equal environment and system to enjoy it. Beyond borders, disparities, discrimination and prejudice, we want to deliver our music everywhere to anyone. We are looking for someone to help us to do it.
