Nebuta originates in Tôhoku, North of Japan. For 300 years, people have been celebrating Nebuta matsuri in early July, where huge illuminated floats parade across the city at nightfall. Those impressive floats are made of wood covered in painted washi paper, and feature Japanese folk icons. Gods, warriors, and imaginary creatures face each other in a memorable and gigantic parade.

At Japan Expo, don’t miss the Tachi Nebuta from Goshogawara city representing the legendary character of de Guan Yu, a god of commerce these days. Don’t miss the opportunity to find out more about this colorful festival! See you at booth Q184, hall 5A.
