From its debut, Japan Expo has always been striving to unveil for you the beauty of Japanese culture and traditions, by featuring exhibits, artists and craftspeople, and enchanting shows!
You’ve always dreamed of making an origami crane? attending a tea ceremony? learning how to play shôgi? You’re wondering what ikebana, yukata, or furoshiki mean? The area dedicated to culture and traditions at Japan Expo is the place for you: many participants are sharing their passion, knowledge, and know-how while proposing demonstrations, initiations, and discovery sessions.
The WABI SABI area has been attending Japan Expo for several years and invites you to discover the wonders of Japanese arts and crafts, with many artists and craftsmen coming all the way from Japan to show their creations.
During the previous editions, Japan Expo has invited you to experience the quiet of a tea ceremony, to meet geisha, to relax with a shiatsu session, or to discover Japanese cities through exhibits.
Along your journey, don’t forget to stop at the Sakura stage: enjoy traditional music and instruments, such as taiko, koto, or shakuhachi, discover the world of geisha, or watch folk shows like awa odori or yosakoi.
Japan Expo is the opportunity to share your passions and discover a culture so rich it will keep on surprising you for a long time!
