European Cosplay Gathering: the biggest cosplay contest in Europe
Picture the best cosplayers in Europe in their most mind-blowing costumes, performances equal to the craziest shows you’ve ever dreamed of, all on a stage worthy of the heroes it will feature: the ECG finals is taking place at Japan Expo and you can follow the results of the sélections on our website all year long!
Presentation
In July 2011, the European Cosplay Gathering, ECG for short, went through the finals of its first edition at Japan Expo. Since July 2019, this major European cosplay contest is back on track, touring Europe event after event to find the cosplayers who will compete in the finals of Season 10 set at Japan Expo next July.
The ECG allows the entrants to perform on the biggest cosplay stage in Europe, the Ichigo stage at Japan Expo, in front of 14,000 people who come to admire, support and cheer them: enjoy a show like no other. More than a mere cosplay show, the ECG finals are a masterpiece!
Selections
The ECG now includes 15 countries in the run. 3 or 4 entrants – 1 in the solo category, and 2 or 3 in the group category – are chosen in each of the following 14 countries: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
After each selection, the new finalists are introduced on Japan Expo’s website and on the ECG official website. Every year, the French selections launch the new season on the day after the finals on the Ichigo Stage at Japan Expo.
