Japan Expo is glad to reveal its Music Guest of Honor: after a US tour, the J-rock band VAMPS will be at Japan Expo in July for signings, and an explosive showcase on Saturday!
Biography
VAMPS were formed by HYDE (L’Arc~en~Ciel) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust) in 2008. Their outstanding shows prove that they’re a rock band like no other, playing a variety of gig styles such as their signature “take-over” style live shows at the ZEPP venues throughout Japan, Arena venues, outdoor events such as at the Laguna Beach and their annual Halloween Event. Their enthusiastic approaches to the overseas music scene saw them play globally in North and South America, Europe and Asia as part of their world tour.
In 2013, VAMPS signed with Universal Music/Delicious Deli Records, fuelling expectations for further national as well as global activities. Their first release since signing with Universal, VAMPS LIVE 2012, featured footage from the Namba show of their 49-show tour, and ranked 1st in the Oricon Weekly Blu-ray Chart.
Having released their best-of album SEX BLOOD ROCK N’ ROLL in September 2013, they teamed up with LIVE NATION, known for producing live shows for international stars such as Lady Gaga, Madonna and U2. Since then their global live activities have flourished, having completed a European tour in Autumn 2013 and performing at DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL, one of the UK’s major rock festivals this summer.

Their following single VAMPIRE’S LOVE was released in October as the Japanese image song of Hollywood blockbuster Dracula Untold, which charted in at 3rd place in the Singles Chart. Their most recent release, BLOODSUCKERS, marks the duo’s long awaited 3rd original studio album after 4 years, which ranked 5th in the Albums Chart. After a year in the making, VAMPS toured Japan as part of the much anticipated VAMPS LIVE 2014-2015, where they played 33 shows with an audience of over 65,000.
In February, VAMPS hosted and headlined their own festival, VAMPARK FEST, at the legendary Nippon Budokan in Tokyo – the bill will be completed by Special Guests SIXX:A.M., plus Buckcherry, Gerard Way and Nothing More. Outside of Japan, VAMPS toured the US last April; this major run of dates kicked off in San Francisco on April 8 at The Regency Ballroom.
