A comedian represented since 2007 by the Yoshimoto Creative Agency, Tekken was born on May 12th 1972 in Omachi, Nagano Prefecture. His ambitions of being a manga artist, a professional wrestler, and an actor brought him to comedy. He became known for his routines accompanied by flip-book drawings. He is a lot on TV now, in owarai sketches, typical of Japanese TV shows and which the Japanese love!

In 2012, he entered a competition for a para-para manga (flip manga in English) animation, combining the back-and-forth motion of a clock pendulum with Exogenesis Symphony Part III Redemption by the English band Muse. Uploaded on YouTube, Pendulum set a record, passing 3 million views within a week. The flip-manga came to the attention of the band, which used a longer version as the official video for the song.
Since then Tekken has been active mainly in para-para manga animation, with projects including Disney’s Big Hero 6, Slide, an animation based on the life of figure skater Mao ASADA, and Shining Brightly, a tourist promotion for his home town of Omachi, for which he serves as Tourism Ambassador.
