Biography

Michinoku Sendai ORI ☆ Himetai is an idol band created in July 2011 to support reconstruction after the tsunami of March 11, 2011 in Tohoku. They visit temporary homes, support temporary stores, organize fund-raising, and are both volunteers and idols at the same time.

The band is made of 11 girls from 12 to 18: Nodoca, Erina, Rina, Yuna, Anne, Erin, Sora, and Karen. Their choreographies are original and fascinating, and their costumes most varied: they have more than 80 different ones.

As Michinoku Sendai ORI ☆ Himetai, they have won 2 national idol contests. They have also won a prize in Dance Summit in Japan.

As for their volunteer activities, they have become the official ambassador for the Ministry for the Environment. They have contributed to protection activities in Tohoku’s damaged regions and have won the prize "Links in Tohoku". Their goal as idols is to represent Asia. They love their regions, and bring back vivacity to Tohoku.

At Japan Expo, they’re coming to present the situation of the reconstruction in Tohoku and present Japanese mineral waters such as Nihon no Meisui Hyakusen, as part of the Water Project, organized by the Ministry for the Environment, in which Japanese companies are implied. And they will also be on stage, live!
