Irono-sensei

The mangaka Irono-sensei is immersing her readership in a world halfway between shônen and dark fantasy: invited in partnership with the publisher Kana, she’s presenting her first series at Japan Expo, for the release in France on July 7!

Biography

Irono-sensei was born some December 28 in Omuta, Fukuoka prefecture and now lives in Kyoto. As a primary school pupil, she discovered Rumiko TAKAHASHI’s manga Inuyasha and decided that she would become a mangaka. A few years later, she graduated from the manga and screenplay department of Seika University in Kyoto.

The Grim Reaper, pre-published in the monthly magazine Gfantasy, is her first series and is to be released on July 7 in France (published by Kana), right on time for Japan Expo.

When she’s not working, Irono-sensei loves to go to the movies or play video games. She’s also interested in ancient Egypt and recently in the British royal family. She also has a soft spot for chocolate, coffee and cakes, Black Butler, Vocaloïd (especially Hatsune Miku and Kaito), and cute dogs, like her parents’ miniature Schnauzer.

The Grim Reaper will be released in France on July 7, 2017: discover it at Japan Expo alongside its author, Irono-sensei! She’ll be meeting you at a panel and signings.
