J-music
J-music is a must of Japanese pop culture and of course a must at Japan Expo. With a dedicated stage, meetings and activities at all times, it’s a music festival inside the festival that’s awaiting you!
The Karasu stage
The Karasu stage hosts J-music stars and stars to be. For 10 years, this 168 sqm stage has been entirely dedicated to music and can make up to 4,000 people go wild with moving, electric, enchanting, and memorable gigs.
All genres are welcome to show the variety of the Japanese music scene. J-pop, rock, electro or visual kei, the Karasu Stage gives a full insight of J-music.
The new talents of J-music
Japan Expo puts young talents and stars to be in the spotlight. Since 2014, the contest Tokyo Candoll, organised in partnership with the festival, enables the idol band who wins the competition to perform on the Karasu stage, perfect to launch a career! Two more contests featured new bands in 2017: Tokyo Candoll -BOYS- and JAPAN EXPO ROCKs.
And to show you even more artists of varied styles, Japan Expo has launched in 2016 the J-music Springboards, with rock, pop, jazz... musicians, mixing styles to allow you to have a look at the abunding Japanese underground music scene.

Activities & events
After the show, Japan Expo offers you to meet the artists which you’ve enjoyed live! Signings are organized everyday and all day long to allow you spend some time with them and leave with a personal souvenir.
Associations also contribute to make you enjoy Japanese music with activities, games and quizzes for all those who want to test their knowledge!
