THE 16TH IMPACT, A PARADISE FOR COSPLAYERS
Cosplay cannot be ignored at Japan Expo! Dozens of booths display costumes and props, amateur cosplayers show off their creations walking the halls, and the most experienced ones perform on Ichigô stage. Let us take a look back on this 16th Impact imbued with the spirit of cosplay from head to toes!
Undeniably, the cosplay phenomenon grabs you from your arrival at the festival. In the alleyways, your favorite characters are casually wandering, truly flesh and blood! But you have to slip into the darkness of Ichigô hall to attend shows that will leave you speechless. All of a sudden, spotlights come on, and magic starts to shine!
The 16th Impact offered you a program full of cosplay parades and competitions. The ECG finals (European Cosplay Gathering) are certainly the most prestigious cosplay event in Europe, and they took place at Japan Expo! You were 15,000 spectators that came to attend the show in which 11 European countries’ representatives were competing. The quality level was very high and cosplayers surely impressed you!
The ECG ends at Japan Expo but also gets started there… The season 6, which will be held in 2016, already has its French representatives! You could attend their election among the best national cosplayers. And with a new season comes a new Tales of ambassador! He was elected on Kitsune stage… and from there, will travel all across Europe to represent the ECG.
The program also included the usual French selections for the World Cosplay Summit, which is taking place as we speak in Nagoya, Japan. Last but not least, the Cosplay Shows rewarded passionate cosplayers who dared to parade out on the big stage on Thursday and Friday, acclaimed by a vast audience.
