The festival opening also marks the beginning of Animé 100! And the 100th anniversary of Japanese animation started well: animator Takuya WADA met you this morning during a panel and a live drawing of Lupin III where he told you about the ups and downs of his career. Some of you even had the chance to learn his drawing techniques at a masterclass. For those of you who missed him, the other Animé 100 guests are also waiting for you for private lessons all along the festival!
This afternoon, it was the creators of Lupin III who chatted with you on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the series. After a screening of two episodes, animator Kazuhide TOMONAGA revealed that the 5th season of the famous anime is going to take place in France!
Music artists also celebrated Anime 100 with the Animé 100 showcase where Kamituski, The World Standard and UMI☆KUUN interpreted the openings of your favorite anime. The idols sang the theme of One Punch Man while UMI☆KUUN went all out by interpreting History Maker, the opening of Yuri!!! on Ice. You can assist to the second Animé 100 showcase on Saturday with the Neko Light Orchestra!
Did you have a look around the Animé 100 exhibit? The Japanese animation evolution is told throughout posters which gather the anime which played (or are stille playing!) a big role for Japanese pop culture. You can even take a photo of yourself with your favorite characters!
